Top classical historic wedding venues in Cambridgeshire

Cambridgeshire is a beautiful county in eastern England, with a rich history and a variety of charming and picturesque locations for weddings. Some of the top classical and historic wedding venues in Cambridgeshire include.

LONGSTOWE HALL

Longstowe, Cambridge CB23 2UH

Let’s start with Longstowe Hall. This place is unique with a nice piece of history to it, Longstowe Hall is perfect for any wedding couple wanting to be surrounded by breathtaking gardens, beautiful lakes, and stunning views, with a grand backdrop of the architecture. I mean who wouldn’t want to get married here, it is just incredible!

BRIEF HISTORY OF LONGSTOWE HALL

Longstowe Hall is an ancient mansion purchased in the reign of Queen Elizabeth I by the Cage family, who rebuilt it. It was acquired by William Arthur Briscoe in 1906. It stands in a park of about 175 acres (70 hectares) and is now used as a venue for weddings.

Well, that’s cool right?! I am sure we’ve all binge-watched Bridgerton, the Queen or Victoria? Now you can live out your dream on your special day here. Wow!

POPULAR WEDDING VENUE FOR CEREMONIES

Longstowe offers the best of both worlds, there is the Rose Ball Room with its cosy oak fireplace and plasterwork, or weather pending you can go outside to the tranquil lakeside setting on the pavilion island. Either option is stunning and whichever you choose, Longstowe Hall is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships.

RECEPTION AREAS

Greet your guests with a glass of bubbly in the exquisitely restored Longstowe courtyard and the orangery with its magnificent fountain. Enjoy your wedding drinks in the English garden with canapes. At Longstowe Hall you are truly spoilt for choice with the picturesque spaces to delight your guests.

There is also a marquee available that can accommodate up to 150 people dining guests, which is very spacious, and stylish, with a dance floor (let your guests show off those moves!) and a stage area for live music.

COST CONSIDERATIONS

Please contact the venue directly to discuss your wedding needs venue-wise, but I am more than happy to discuss wedding photography requests you might have. Please do come say hello, I would love to help.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

HAVE YOU SHOT AT THE VENUE BEFORE?

I have had the opportunity to shoot at this venue before, but I would love to continue to capture beautiful memories for my clients, and my work aligns with the taste and style this venue has to offer.

CAN I GET READY AT LONGTOWE HALL?

Yes, there is a cottage available on site and is available for the bride or groom to use four hours prior to the ceremony commencing.

DOES LONGSTOWE HALL HAVE AN EVENTS MANAGER WHO WILL BE THERE ON THE DAY?

Yes, there is always the events manager on hand throughout the day, and they will liaise with all the other suppliers you’ve hired.

DOES LONGSTOWE HALL ALLOW FOR CONFETTI/LANTERNS/FIREWORKS?

Due to the location being surrounded by wildlife and livestock, it is not possible to have confetti, lanterns, or fireworks. We all need to ensure we respect the environment and all creatures great or small. Two alternative ideas are sparklers in the courtyard and bubble confetti. These are very popular and will make for some truly epic images.
