Find out where and why to invest into photography prints from your wedding or couple photoshoot with Happy Moments Co.
Why you should buy prints
Happy Moments Co. has broken down several reasons why prints are important, and that is why we offer prints included in our wedding photography services.
Professional photography prints
Prints provide a tangible and lasting way to enjoy your photos. Unlike digital files, which can be lost or damaged, prints allow you to hold your memories in your hands and display them in your home for years to come.
Prints offer a higher-quality viewing experience. Photos that are printed on high-quality paper with a professional printer will have better color accuracy, contrast, and detail than those viewed on a screen.
Prints make for beautiful gifts. Whether you’re giving them as a gift to someone else or treating yourself, prints of your photos make for a thoughtful and personal present.
Imagine your great grandchildren looking through your wedding photography prints!
Prints can help to preserve your photos for future generations. Digital files can become outdated or inaccessible over time, but prints will last for many years if properly cared for. Just imagine your great grandchildren looking through your wedding photography prints!
Prints can add value to your photos. As the saying goes, “the best camera is the one you have with you,” and many of the photos we take on our phones and cameras are never printed. By printing your photos, you are giving them the attention and care they deserve and turning them into works of art that can be enjoyed for years to come.
Story-telling photography
Photographers are storytellers and what we do is so important. The creative images we photographers capture last forever and after all those years, the images are the only materialistic thing we have left of our memories. Especially those wedding photography prints I offer in my pancakes for couples to claim, they’re very precious and a service I enjoy providing.
Family albums
Have you ever just sat down and looked through a family photo album or an old trip? I love it and have storage boxes full of images of family and old friends or simply your wedding photography prints. It keeps you grounded and is kinda of a time capsule experience too.
Make your house a home, and fill your walls with prints. Every time you walk into the room or pop to the kitchen for a cuppa you can have a glance at the frame and feel that little smile on your face remembering that day. I love receiving messages from my couples, about the images I captured in frames within their home, my heart always bursts with joy. I personally use Loxley Colour for my photography packages.
Wedding photographers have superpowers
Wedding photographers have superpowers, we are badass and have the ability to freeze time. Therefore, it is virtual to support local businesses by purchasing prints, and it does go a long way. What might seem like a small purchase for you will mean the world to the business owner and enable them to grow as well as bring another person joy, as it shows you do admire their work. Happy Moments Co. offers a in gallery print shop for guests to purchase extra wedding photography prints as a unique feature.
You cannot rely on technology, it’s that simple, some USBs and external hard drives crash. Or images just get lost in the cloud. Buy prints to prevent losing those all-important images.
I would recommend investing in professional image quality, as photographers only use professional printing labs as their work requires colour correction if necessary, and to stop the images from fading over time they’re printed on professional paper products to protect images. Please don’t print images professionally taken from your home printer or a local Boots store. The printers used are not calibrated and your images will be printed in a different colour. Once you receive your photo box or when I start to create your wedding albums with the spread pages, you always have the option to add more page spreads or prints but these will be at extra costs, and all you have to do is let me know or order the prints through the shoot proof site.
Personal life experience story
Trigger warning….
vehicle RTC
(family photo pending)
Now that I have your attention continue reading because I want to dig really deep and open my heart up as to why images and prints are so important to me.
As a young child at the age of 11 my eldest brother, Victor, was involved in a pedal cycle vs lorry RTC. My only memory of this difficult time in my life was my whole family crying, and I mean like the ugly cry where people can’t stop and they scream.
we were told he wasn’t going to make it through the night
(family photo pending)
It was scary and I was told I had to go see Victor in the hospital because he was not going to make it through the night. I had to go say goodbye to my big brother and as a child, you don’t understand what is going on and you watch your older brothers and sisters cry uncontrollably, and watching the pain in your parent’s eyes does break your heart.
As I entered the hospital room, I still remember to this day, hearing the beeps and strange hospital sounds. There was nothing more terrifying than seeing my poor brother, laying in a hospital bed completely lifeless, with tubes down his throat to help him breathe, wires attached to his body linking to noisy machines his whole body bruised and his hands covered in dry blood with a weird swollen head. It didn’t look like him and none of it felt real, like I was going to wake up any minute and it would all of been a dream. But it wasn’t and I remember that night being the longest night of our lives, we stayed at the hospital and we all cried ourselves to sleep, praying and being sick to our stomachs.
miracles do happen
(family photo pending)
In the morning I woke, fearing the worst. Did he make it through the night? He was a freaking miracle, he had hung on. But the struggle didn’t stop there, he continued his journey in a coma for what felt like a year. Victor eventually woke up but with no memory as to who we all were. He looked so scared, he didn’t know where he was or why he was there, it was truly an emotional rollercoaster.
we used photos and videos to help build his memory
(family photo pending)
We didn’t lose hope as a family and the incident made our bonds stronger. The whole family attended the hospital every day with photos and videos to show my brother his life, his family, and his daughter and we continued to document his journey by taking more photos to show him his process when he felt down and frustrated. My mother built his memory from photos as well as other therapy treatments and he survived. I remember we gave him a big keyring set. Each keyring had a photo of one of the family. He could stare at them whenever he liked, and he could also use them as a sensory item.
He now lives a independent life
(family photo pending)
Today he is a healthy, hard-working, very talented artist and he has continued to live his life. Despite his disabilities and memory loss problems he continues to make me proud and smile every damn day. I mean, yeah he could stop putting his deaf ear to me when he doesn’t want to talk to me or others lol. What I’m saying here guys and gals is If it wasn’t for photos how would we as a family have shown our brother his previous life, rebuilt relationships, and documented his process. Whilst this moment in time was long, hard, and emotional we continue to treasure those family moments together with him and are forever grateful he returned to us.
Watch the Disney movie Coco
To end this blog I would like to recommend a film to watch, there is a well-known Mexican tradition called “ the day of the dead” and if you’re not familiar with it then please watch the Disney film “Coco” it puts a different perspective and spin on the importance of prints and it explains the day of the Dead tradition, it is a Mexican holiday celebrated in Mexico and elsewhere associated with the Catholic celebrations of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, and is held on November 1 and 2. The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died by putting framed images out and giving the afterlife gifts. It is such a beautiful holiday.
